Lower Millaton supports those individuals in the mid stages who may no longer be able to live in the community because of behavioural, cognitive or mental health challenges. We know that at this stage despite being physically fit and well individuals sometimes need specialist support to maintain as much independence and control of their lives as possible, whilst maintaining dignity.
Our experienced nursing team is complemented by a physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, specialist GP and consultant psychiatrist all experienced in problem solving with individuals to meet each challenge and ensure that together, we achieve our goals.
In Upper Millaton you will find an enhanced focus on the nursing care of physical symptoms, whilst our specialist team are still very much involved with ensuring people are kept as well as possible both physically and mentally as their condition progresses.
At Millaton Court we understand life with Huntington’s Disease is very much a family affair. We work closely with the Regional HD advisor whose role is to support people and their families in the community with HD.
People with Huntington’s Disease may reach a point where they wish, or need, to come into residential care for respite or longer term care.
